FIM is designed with privacy in mind. The app collects and stores the following information:
- Filament Inventory Data: Information you enter about your filament spools, including colors, suppliers, weights, measurements, and material types.
- Photos (Optional): If you choose to use the camera feature for filament measurement, photos are processed locally on your device and are not transmitted to any servers.
- Purchase and Subscription Status: If you purchase a premium subscription, Apple provides transaction and subscription status information to the App so we can confirm your entitlement and restore purchases.
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide the app’s functionality:
- Store and display your filament inventory
- Calculate remaining filament amounts
- Sync your data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
- Unlock premium features and restore prior purchases
Data Storage
- Local Storage: All your filament data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- iCloud Sync: If you have iCloud enabled, your data is synced through Apple’s CloudKit service. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your filament inventory data remains entirely under your control.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following Apple services:
- iCloud/CloudKit: For optional data synchronization across your devices
- StoreKit and the App Store: For processing purchases, renewals, and restoring premium subscription access
Apple processes subscription billing and may process related personal data under Apple’s own privacy terms. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- All data is stored using Apple’s secure frameworks
- iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- No data is transmitted to external servers
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app
- Deletion: You can delete individual items or all data by uninstalling the app
- Export: Your data synced to iCloud can be managed through your iCloud settings
- Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings
Children’s Privacy
Our app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
